Volunteering Opportunity!

TITLE  |  Inventory Volunteer/Textile Titan

REPORTS TO  |  Operations/Marketing Lead & Founder/President

COMMITMENT  |  Four (4) hours/ Month during our hours of operation, M-F 9:00 am-3:00 pm

As a start-up, each of us wear about ten-thousand different hats—it’s crazy, but we love it. We could definitely use an extra hand, especially as we roll-out our new inventory system. We’re in need of a few individuals to help us sort through different textiles—leather, upholstery, etc.—so that our Operations Lead can log it all into the system. We are looking for those with a passion for people, our planet and justice. You’ll have the chance to work in a start-up business environment, with a bunch of creative and fun minds, and will help to lay a foundation for how Public Thread continues to break the boundaries of textile design and production.

SKILLS DESIRED

  • Organized and reliable

  • Willingness to assist in the materials intake, cleaning and prep process

  • Ability to work with and use non-traditional textiles (like signs, banners or billboard vinyl, along with traditional textiles) in order to create high quality products

  • Problem-solving abilities

  • Integrity and values with alignment to social justice, equity and sustainability.

  • Organized and self-driven with reliable follow-through

  • Not afraid to get (cleanable) textile remnants on your clothes :)
