TITLE | Inventory Volunteer/Textile Titan
REPORTS TO | Operations/Marketing Lead & Founder/President
COMMITMENT | Four (4) hours/ Month during our hours of operation, M-F 9:00 am-3:00 pm
As a start-up, each of us wear about ten-thousand different hats—it’s crazy, but we love it. We could definitely use an extra hand, especially as we roll-out our new inventory system. We’re in need of a few individuals to help us sort through different textiles—leather, upholstery, etc.—so that our Operations Lead can log it all into the system. We are looking for those with a passion for people, our planet and justice. You’ll have the chance to work in a start-up business environment, with a bunch of creative and fun minds, and will help to lay a foundation for how Public Thread continues to break the boundaries of textile design and production.
Organized and reliable
Willingness to assist in the materials intake, cleaning and prep process
Ability to work with and use non-traditional textiles (like signs, banners or billboard vinyl, along with traditional textiles) in order to create high quality products
Integrity and values with alignment to social justice, equity and sustainability.
Organized and self-driven with reliable follow-through
Not afraid to get (cleanable) textile remnants on your clothes :)
For every two (2) hours that you volunteer, you can take one (1) pound of scrapped textiles home with you.
