Welcome to Public Thread.
We’re so happy you’re here.
My name is Janay Brower. Right from my kitchen, I launched Public Thread in 2016. I started this company because I wanted to create a sustainable business that supports talented people in my community, uses materials that already exist and disrupts the current textile industry with creativity and collaboration.
We’re here to prove it is possible to honor people and planet through the manufacturing process.
By diverting textiles from the landfill and back into our hands, we’re re-imagining what exists in the world around us. We create living wage jobs and high-quality products with bold, important stories to tell—
So you can feel good about the products you buy.
What Is Public Thread?
So, what does “cut and sew” actually mean? Does Public Thread do contract work? How do you get your materials? What came first, the chicken or the egg?
Frequently asked questions deserve answers, and answers you shall receive (except for maybe that last one).
